Why Is There No Pure Cashmere With 100% Cashmere Content? 100% Cashmere ≠ Cashmere Content 100%

Textile people with many years of experience will give you popular science. Pure cashmere = 100% cashmere ≠ 100% cashmere content. What is pure cashmere? The national standard stipulates that cashmere contains morphologically modified cashmere fibers (content does not exceed 5%) but does not contain non-animal fibers or other animal fibers. It can be regarded as all cashmere (all cashmere) or 100% cashmere (100% cashmere). The diameter of the velvet fiber must be less than 19μm.

Because cashmere is manually collected from goats, it is inevitable that wool or cashmere fibers with mutated cashmere will be introduced non-artificially. This mutated fiber will be judged as wool during testing. Pure cashmere requires that these contents do not exceed 5%. . This 5% must come from the sheep during collection, not artificially added during spinning. Therefore, there is no pure cashmere with a cashmere content of 100%. The cashmere content in the test is ≥95%, which is pure cashmere, also called 100% cashmere or full cashmere. This is in line with national and international standards.

So sometimes on the ingredients label of some big brands, we will see 95% cashmere, 5% sheep wool, or 97% cashmere, 3% sheep wool and other ingredients. This is based on the cashmere content labeling method. This is the brand name. The composition of the random inspection will be different for different batches of clothing. In fact, its material is pure cashmere/100% cashmere.

There are also cashmere sweaters that are directly labeled as pure cashmere or 100% cashmere. This label is based on the composition of the raw materials. Essentially, it is the same as the previous label based on cashmere content. They are all pure cashmere. Don't worry about this. If the ex-factory composition of the cashmere yarn from the spinning mill is pure cashmere, then the label of the bobbin core will be 100% cashmere or 100% cashmere, not the cashmere content.

In addition, cashmere sweaters with a cashmere content of more than 30% can be called cashmere sweaters. Some cashmere sweaters have a cashmere content of only 15% or 10% and are not strictly considered cashmere sweaters.
