Which Is Better, Acrylic Yarn Or Polyester Yarn?

Polyester is widely used in tabletop materials and industrial products. It is very easy to determine the nature of polyester, and it can still remain flat after repeated washing.


1. High strength. The strength of short fiber is 2.6~5.7 cN/dtex, and that of high strength fiber is 5.6~8.0 cN/dtex. Due to its low moisture absorption, its wet strength is basically the same as its dry strength. The impact strength is 4 times higher than nylon and 20 times higher than viscose fiber.


2. Good elasticity. The elasticity is close to that of wool. When the elongation is 5%~6%, it can almost recover completely.


3. Heat resistance and thermal stability are the best among synthetic fabrics.


4. Polyester has smooth surface and closely arranged internal molecules.


5. Good wear resistance. The abrasion resistance is only inferior to nylon with the best abrasion resistance, which is better than other natural fibers and synthetic fibers.


6. Good light resistance. Light resistance is second only to acrylic fiber.


7. Corrosion resistance. It is resistant to bleaching agents, oxidants, hydrocarbons, ketones, petroleum products and inorganic acids. It is resistant to dilute alkali and is not afraid of mold, but can be decomposed by hot alkali.


8. Poor dyeing, but good color fastness, not easy to fade.


The main production process of acrylic fiber: polymerization → spinning → preheating → steam drafting → washing → drying → heat setting → crimping → cutting → packaging.


The performance of polyacrylonitrile fiber is very similar to wool, with good elasticity. When it is stretched by 20%, the resilience can still be kept at 65%. It is fluffy, curly and soft, and its warmth retention is 15% higher than that of wool. It is called synthetic wool. The strength is 22.1~48.5 cN/dtex, which is 1~2.5 times higher than wool. It has excellent light resistance. It can be used as curtain, curtain, tarpaulin, and cannon coat after being exposed to the sun for one year. It can resist acid, oxidant and general organic solvent, but has poor alkali resistance. The fiber softening temperature is 190~230 ℃.
