What are the properties of acrylic yarn?

The main ingredient is acrylonitrile, with small amounts of other ingredients. The acrylic fabric is brightly dyed and has good light fastness. However, its wear resistance is the poorest among various synthetic fiber fabrics. Therefore, acrylic fabrics are suitable for outdoor clothing, swimwear and children's clothing.

Acrylic fabric has poor hygroscopicity, is easy to stain, and feels stuffy when wearing, but its dimensional stability is better.

Acrylic fabric has good heat resistance, ranks second in synthetic fibers, and is resistant to acids, oxidants and organic solvents, and is relatively sensitive to the effect of alkalis.

Acrylic fabric is the lighter fabric among synthetic fabrics, second only to polypropylene, so it is a good lightweight clothing material, such as mountaineering clothing, winter warm clothing, etc.

After adding a small amount of other ingredients, the dyeing properties of acrylic fabrics are obviously improved.

The properties of acrylic fibers are greatly affected by temperature, and heat treatment is often used to change the quality of acrylic fibers, such as improving dimensional stability. Synthetic fibers that have been used for a long time include polypropylene, vinylon and ethylene. Research is ongoing to expand the applicability of these fibers and improve their properties.
