Introduction and characteristics of acrylic yarn

Acrylic yarn is a kind of chemical fiber, and its performance is very similar to wool, so it is called "synthetic wool".

Molecular structure of acrylic yarn: Acrylic is very unique in its internal structure, with an irregular spiral conformation and no strict crystallization area, but there are high-order and low-order arrangements. Due to this structure, acrylic yarn has good thermal elasticity (can be processed into bulked yarn), acrylic yarn has a small density, smaller than wool, and the fabric has good warmth retention. It has good elasticity, second only to polyester, about twice as high as nylon, and has good shape retention.

Acrylic fiber has the best light resistance among all synthetic fibers. After being exposed to the sun for a year, its strength only drops by 20%. Because acrylic yarn is fluffy and soft to the touch, it is often used to make wool yarn, carpets, etc.; because of its good weather resistance and mildew and moth-proof properties, it can also be spun alone or blended with other fibers.

Features

Elasticity: It has good elasticity, second only to polyester and about 2 times higher than nylon. It has good shape retention.

Strength: Although the strength of acrylic is not as good as that of polyester and nylon, it is 1 to 2.5 times higher than that of wool.

Heat resistance: The softening temperature of the fiber is 190 to 230C, second only to polyester among synthetic fibers.

Light resistance: The light resistance of acrylic is the best among all synthetic fibers. After being exposed to the sun for a year, the strength only decreases by 20%.

Acrylic is resistant to acids, oxidants and general organic solvents, but not alkali. Acrylic products have good fluffiness, good warmth retention, soft hand feel, good weather resistance, mildew resistance and moth resistance.

The warmth retention of acrylic is about 15% higher than that of wool. Acrylic can be blended with wool, and the products are mostly used in civilian applications, such as wool yarn, blankets,
