The texture of Soft Fluffy Mohair Yarn is often compared to angora and cashmere, but the fibres are actually made from the hair of kid angora goats. This makes the yarn incredibly fluffy and luxurious; wonderfully delicate and with slightly privet-like texture.

 

Mohair wool is the coat of Angora goats. It originated from the bushes in the foothills of the Himalayas and was later cultivated and shaped by Turkey. Because Angora goats cannot be artificially bred and can only graze in alpine woodlands, they can only provide a small amount of hair (2-2.5kg per year) until they are 8 years old. Therefore, they are the only high-quality textile fiber second to cashmere.
